After a career in the printing machinery business I have been able
to give more time to my early love of painting and drawing. I started
water colour painting 15 years ago working with a number of tutors
and for some time now I have been working with Colin Kirby-Green,
who has been an inspirational teacher helping me with techniques,
composition and encouragement. During this time I have also developed
my powers of observation, appreciating beauty in the textures,
colours and shapes of everyday things, and also becoming aware of
their innate abstract possibilities. I hope I have been able to express
this in my Paintings. Living in Colchester, I paint many subjects in the
surrounding area and also in many other parts of the country
as well as France, Spain and more recently, Italy.

Michael Weldon
Michael Weldon has been coming to me as one of my students for
some time now.He has made much progress since I first met him.
Whereas I’m sure that he will develop further it is clear now that he
deserves to be exhibiting his work and I am delighted for him to be
taking part in the current joint exhibition in my studio.
